Tin is one of the founders and managing partners of the law firm. He has been practicing law for over 11 years. Tin is dedicated in providing high-quality, professional legal services to clients.  Tin assists clients with a wide-variety of immigration matters, ranging from applications and petitions with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and consular processing of approved immigrant and non-immigrant visas at U.S. Consulates around the world; to representing clients detained by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE); to defending clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA); and to representing clients in U.S. Federal District Courts for Writ of Mandamus and Habeas Corpus proceedings. 

Tin is an active member of the community in Charlotte. He is a founding board member of the Southeast Asian Coalition (SEAC), a social justice and multi-racial youth organizing entity in Charlotte. He is the lead pro-bono attorney at SEAC, representing immigrant/refugee families victimized by police violence. He also provides legal support, representation, and mentoring to youth who are caught in the juvenile justice system.

 

Tin is admitted to the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bars, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Western and Eastern District of North Carolina. Tin is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and formerly served as the Chair of the Pro Bono Committee. He was a former board member for the American Civil Liberties Union – North Carolina (ACLU-NC) and currently serves on the organization's Legal Committee. 

Born in Nome, Alaska, Tin grew up in a tight-knit Vietnamese refugee family. He has spent most of his life in Charlotte where both sides of his family live. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 with a B.A. in International Studies and Asian Studies. He earned his Juris Doctorate at North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2006.
